Colleen A. WhiteColleen A. White

Colleen A. White has been a member of the Florida Bar and the Jacksonville Beaches Bar Association since 1993. She is also a member of the General Practice, Solo & Small Firm Section, Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section, and the Family Law Section. She is also a Qualified Arbitrator and a Former Certified Mediator. She is also a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Association. She earned her B.A. degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and her J.D. degree from Creighton University, School of Law.

Ms. White is the owner of a general practice firm which represents clients in the areas of Family, Probate and Business Law. She has been a CLE presenter for the Jacksonville Bar Association and is currently a presenter for and faculty member of NBI.

Courtney M. WaltersCourtney M. Walters

Courtney Walters is originally from Murfreesboro, TN. She has a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Middle Tennessee State University, with minors in Communication, Psychology, and Women’s Studies. Courtney went on to receive a law degree from Southern Illinois University School of Law, and served her Judicial Clerkship in South Carolina Family Court.

Her husband’s service in the U.S. Navy relocated them to Florida, where Courtney started as a volunteer attorney with the Nassau County Public Defender’s office before transitioning into private practice. Courtney’s passion for her work and care for her clients provides a personalized experience for those needing her help. When not helping clients, Courtney enjoys time with her family by the pool and beach.

Katheryn HancockKatheryn Hancock

Katheryn grew up at the beach, attending Neptune Beach Elementary and Fletcher Middle and High Schools. She received a B.A. in History and English from the University of North Florida, a Master's Degree in Latin American Studies from Vanderbilt University, and a law degree from the University of Alabama. While in law school, Katheryn served on the Moot Court Board, a trial competition team, was the editor of a journal, and was a member of the Bench and Bar Legal Honor Society. She also had an article on the discharge of student loans in bankruptcy published in a legal journal.

After practicing at a large-volume bankruptcy firm for over three years, Katheryn decided to open up The Hancock Firm, P.A. in order to better serve her clients in the Beaches community. Katheryn has filed nearly 1000 bankruptcy cases and has attended hundreds of creditor meetings and hearings in the Bankruptcy Court. Katheryn is currently the Treasurer of the Jacksonville Bankruptcy Bar Association and Treasurer of the Jacksonville Beaches Bar Association. She is also the President of BRASS (Beaches Residents Actively Supporting the Symphony) and is on the Jacksonville Symphony Board of Directors.

In her free time, Katheryn enjoys riding her bike, walking on the beach, cooking and baking, going to the gym, fencing, and spending time with her wonderful family.

Rob EllisRobert H. Ellis

Robert Ellis has wanted to be a Jacksonville attorney since graduating from high school here in 1989.  He enrolled at the University of South Florida in 1989 and ran on the cross country team.  In 1991 he transferred to Florida State University and graduated in 1993.  He earned his Juris Doctorate from St. Thomas University School of Law in 1998.  While in law school Robert was a member of the Moot Court Board and received an award for competing at legal writing and oral argument.

After law school Robert worked as an Assistant Public Defender.  He handled a large case load of criminal cases and went to trial over 40 times.  Robert has worked as an associate attorney at a prestigious civil law firm and represented Fortune 500 companies such as General Motors, Tyson Foods, and BP.  He has also represented high profile public officials in federal court cases.

Robert values public service.  He is a member of the Florida Bar Member Benefits Committee, the Jacksonville Bar Association Professionalism Committee, the Jacksonville Women Lawyers Association and has provided many pro bono hours with Jacksonville Area Legal Aid since 2008.  He has served as a board member for the Inside Outside Program and mentored teenagers charged with adult crimes.  He is active with the YMCA Adventure Guides Program (Choctaw Federation).  Since 2004 has served in in many positions with the YMCA  including the head position as Federation Chief from 2010 through 2012. Robert spends most of his free time with his wife and two children in Jacksonville Beach.  He is still an avid runner and also enjoys surfing and golf.

MITCH STONE of Mitchell A. Stone, P.A.  is a solo practitioner specializing in State and Federal criminal defense in North Florida. He is Board Certified in Criminal Trial Law by the Florida Bar Board of Legal Certification. He has been recognized for his work in the areas of criminal defense, DUI defense and white collar criminal defense by being named in Best Lawyers in America, Super Lawyers Publication, Florida Trend's Legal Elite, Jacksonville Magazine's Leading Lawyers and in the Martindale-Hubbell Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers. He is a former Assistant State Attorney and has conducted over 150 criminal jury trials to verdict in both Federal and State court as a defense attorney. He has also had success in the civil courts including a million dollar verdict in a personal injury case and a 9.7 million dollar verdict in a construction defect case. 

He was elected Secretary of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (FACDL) in 2017 and Treasurer in 2018. He will become the statewide President of FACDL in 2021. He is past president of the Jacksonville Beaches Bar Association, past president of the Northeast Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, past chair of the Criminal Law Section of the Jacksonville Bar Association. He is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Florida Bar Criminal Law Section. Mr. Stone chaired the FACDL DUI seminar Blood Breath & Tears from 2011-2017; He has been on the faculty of the Gerald T. Bennett Prosecutor/Public Defender Advanced Trial Practice Seminar, The Florida Bar's Masters of DUI seminar, Blood Breath and Tears, and the FACDL Showcase on Sentencing. He has also lectured on criminal defense topics at the Fourth Judicial Circuit Public Defender's Office and at the Middle District of Florida's Federal Defender Conference.

He has authored books on criminal law topics: DUI Defense Strategies in Florida and Property Crimes Defenses (Aspartome  2012, 2014). He also has authored the DUI Notes and currently F Words columns for the Florida Defender Magazine. He earned his B.A. degree from the University of Vermont in 1985 and his J.D. degree from the University of Florida College of Law in 1988.

David Willis is a Jacksonville native and life-long resident. He graduated from Wolfson High School and went on to the University of North Florida, graduating with a degree in Business Management. David is a licensed General Contractor who decided to dedicate himself to fighting for the rights of the everyday citizens he saw being abused by the system and unable to cope with the complex legal issues affecting their lives.
